My Services

So you’ve been arrested for DWI. Now what? You have many legal defense options in the West Texas area alone. Carefully selecting the right representation could make all of the difference in the outcome of your case. I’d like to suggest a few things to look for when selecting an attorney to defend you in a court of law:

Board Certified
It is essential that you have a qualified attorney working your case. Being Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization comes with some hefty requirements. Experience in the preparation and trial of serious criminal matters; an extensive knowledge of state and federal law; regularly attending legal trainings to keep up to date; evaluation by fellow attorneys and judges and passing a day-long written examination covering state and federal law. Of the 67,000 licensed attorneys in Texas, only 826 are Board Certified. In Lubbock County alone, there are only six attorneys that are Board Certified in Criminal Law, including one prosecutor. Selecting a Board Certified attorney instantly gives you a more qualified defense.

DWI Specialization
Any attorney can represent a DWI defendant. However, DWI law is complex and regularly changes. To ensure you have the highest level of representation, an attorney must focus their attention on the latest DWI case and defense techniques to make sure that every avenue is explored in your case.
Aggressive Defense
Instead of automatically entering a guilty plea, it is important that you fight for your good name and force the State to prove their case in court. With the right experience and the proper information in hand you can aggressively defend your rights and freedom.

Consistent Training

Keeping on top of specifics to DWI law and defense techniques can be critical to the quality of representation you receive. Regular attendance at seminars, training courses and DWI-specific education are key to staying up-to-date on Alcohol Breath Testing and DWI defense techniques. If DWI is all the attorney does, they’ll have a greater chance of knowing the most effective ways to defend their clients.

Individual Case Preparation
When a cookie-cutter defense just won't cut it, I am here to provide the customized help you need. My approach to DWI defense is creative, aggressive, and fearless and I leave absolutely no stone unturned in your pursuit of justice. I have a proven track record of hearing my favorite two words: "not guilty" and I am persistent, insistent, and employ an unwavering approach towards demanding discovery that unearths the government's buried secrets.

Devoted to Aggressive Defense
The focus of my practice is DWI defense, and I believe in making the State prove your guilt and perform their due diligence. As laws and techniques are constantly changing, I work to stay on top of the law, current trends and relevant courtroom situations. In addition, I’ve completed training for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standardized field sobriety tests. This allows me to better evaluate how you did on the tests and to evaluate if the test was administered accurately and fairly.

Personal Attention
In addition, I will be the one to personally handle your case. Unlike other practices, where you may meet with one attorney but be represented in court by an associate, I personally handle all of my cases and represent all of them in court. I believe your situation is much too important to be left to an associate. I limit my practice and monthly client retainers so that I can personally handle each case. I realize that you are paying for my expertise and ability and not an associate or junior attorney.
